Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool—REDUCED OPENING HOURS (50m pool and the wading pool).
Due to the significant increase in flying fox numbers, as well as their impact on the Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool, Council in conjunction with the Pool’s Lessee, have decided to reduce opening hours of the outdoor 50m pool and the wading pool from Wednesday 11 December 2019.
The reduced hours will allow staff to undertake extra cleaning of the facility.
The 25m indoor heated pool will remain open per normal hours.
From Wednesday 11 December 2019, opening hours will be as follows (50m pool and the wading pool only).
- Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
- Saturday: 7:00am - 5:00pm
- Sunday: 9:00am - 4:00pm
- Charters Towers Public Holidays: 10:00am - 4:00pm
The main entrance to the pool will be closed with entry via the heated pool (Plummer Street).
Council will continue to monitor flying fox numbers and will return the opening hours to normal once the flying fox impact has been minimised.
Council apologises for this inconvenience and appreciates the public's cooperation.
