Move It

Move It NQ

The Charters Towers Move It Programme is aimed to support students in keeping a healthy and active lifestyle by providing structured after-school activities for youth at no cost.

The programme is facilitated by and held at PCYC on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 3:30pm during the school terms.

The activities are designed for children aged 10- 14 years with signed parental permission required for participation.

All activities vary from each day to ensure the children are developing their skills and abilities whilst having fun and experiencing new challenges.

Term 1 is featuring a new activity, “Functional Fitness” commencing 23 January 2024.  Functional Fitness involves fundamental exercises that align with how we naturally move – from walking to bending, pushing to pulling, and more.

By participating in a Functional Fitness class, students will experience a range of benefits.  This programme is not just about building physical strength, but also about improving muscle memory, mobility, balance, and posture.  The emphasis on functional movements helps reduce the risk of injuries, ensuring a safer and healthier lifestyle.
