Annual Reports

It is a requirement for each Local Government in Queensland to produce an Annual Report made up of three parts.

Part A covers the activities across Council, noting in particular, highlights unique to the previous financial year to 30 June.  Additionally there are some mandatory operational disclosures, in accordance with the Local Government Act, covering Councillors, and Governance matters coordinated through the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.

Part B incorporates the Annual Audited Financial Statements of Council.  The format of these reports follow the guidelines stated in the Local Government Regulations, Finance Standards, and many other accounting standards.  Queensland Councils are audited annually, and these are required to be signed off by the Queensland Audit Office (QAO).  While the QAO does directly undertake a number of these Audits, a large number are delegated to large scale Accounting Firms.  As these statements are a formal record of the financial activities throughout the year, a report is also produced with less technical disclosures, in Part C.

Part C incorporates the Community Financial Report aimed at highlighting the financial performance and position of Council, in a more relaxed and readable format.

Hard copies of the Annual Report may be ordered from Council - charges apply.
