Unearth Our Secrets - Photography Competition
Charters Towers Regional Council invites photographers to enter a photography competition encompassing the theme ‘Unearth Our Secrets’.
Capture what you love about the Charters Towers Region, whether it’s our landscapes, heritage buildings, community moments or hidden gems. Entries from all ages and skill levels are encouraged, showcasing your unique perspective through the lens.
By entering, participants grant Charters Towers Regional Council permission to use submitted photographs for promotional, educational and informational purposes across Council publications, website and social media, in accordance with the Competition Terms and Conditions.
Winners will be announced at the History and Heritage Fair, with the community also invited to vote in the People's Choice category. Selected photographs will be displayed for the community to enjoy, with finalists exhibited at the Excelsior Library 25 - 29 May.
How to Enter
Entries will only be accepted via the online entry form.
Submitted images must be:
- JPEG format (Please DO NOT submit TIFF format files),
- at least 300 dpi,
- minimum of 2MB in size and no larger than 10MB, and
- titled with Entrant’s name and image title (E.g. JaneSmith_OldShed.jpeg).
Categories
There are three (3) categories to enter:
- Nature / Landscape
- Community Events and Celebrations
- Street Life : Charters Towers
Entries Close: 4pm Monday, 18 May 2026
Prizes
The amount of $300 will be awarded to the determined winner in each of the three (3) entry categories as well as $150 for the People’s Choice Winner.
