Small Business Friendly
In May 2025, Charters Towers Regional Council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local small businesses by signing the renewed Small Business Friendly Commitment(PDF, 114KB). This pledge, led by the Queensland Small Business Commissioner, aligns with the Region’s 2025–2030 Economic Development Strategy and focuses on delivering measurable outcomes for our small business community.
Originally signed in 2021, the updated Commitment introduces a stronger action framework emphasising capability building, collaboration, and unlocking opportunities for local businesses.
Council is dedicated to:
- Uplifting the capability of small businesses.
- Fostering ecosystems that help small businesses thrive.
- Promoting small businesses and vibrant economies.
- Enabling small business development and success.
- Working together for small business.
As part of this commitment, Council will implement an action-focused plan, promote small business initiatives, and report progress to the Queensland Small Business Commissioner to ensure transparency and accountability.
