Publication Scheme
Section 21 of the Right to Information Act 2009, requires Council to have in place a Publication Scheme. The purpose of this Scheme is to present a consolidated, user-friendly and comprehensive overview of Council’s organisation, its relationship to the community and the various avenues for public access to Council’s processes. Most items contained within the Publication Scheme are directly accessible from Council’s website.

Exempt Information
Not all information is available through Council’s Publication Scheme. If the information you need is not published, you can request it through a Right to Information application. Your request will be considered based on the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2009.

Complaints about the Publication Scheme can also be made directly to the Office of the Information Commissioner.
Queensland Privacy Principles (QPP) Policy
Council’s Queensland Privacy Policy establishes practices and procedures to be adopted and followed by staff regarding how personal information within Council must be managed. This Policy is designed to achieved compliance with legislation and to assist our community to understand how personal information is managed within Council.
Our Lists
Charters Towers Regional Council maintains a number of Registers that are open to inspection by the public. If Council is required to provide a facility for the applicant to obtain a copy or an extract, a fee may be charged.

[2] Access to information about an owner of a dog is not open to inspection, in accordance with S179(2) of the Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008
