Waste Disposal Facilities

Council operates four (3) licensed landfills in the region. The landfills include the Stubley Street Landfill & Resource Recovery Area located in Charters Towers, and the Greenvale and Pentland Landfills located adjacent to each of their respective townships. The information provided below includes; hours of operation, the physical address of each site, a list of waste types that Council is licensed to receive, criteria of acceptance for limited regulated wastes, and a link to the applicable fees and charges

• The disposer is to empty the oil from the containers into the 5,000 Litre Waste Oil Storage Facility
• Quantity of Waste Motor Oil limited to a maximum of 20 Litres.

Tyres

• All tyres accepted, up to and including a truck tyre. Bobcat, forklift, tractor, grader, loader, dump truck tyres, etc. are prohibited
• Commercial tyres only accepted if shredded (limits on quantity may apply)
