The Creative Spotlight
The Charters Towers Region is home to an incredible community of artists, musicians, makers, artisans and creative businesses, and we want to celebrate them!
The Creative Spotlight Series is a monthly initiative recognising the people and businesses who bring creativity, talent and unique stories to our region.
Each month, Council will shine a spotlight on a local creative, sharing their story, work and contribution with the community through Council’s communication channels.
Know a local creative who deserves to be in the spotlight?
Nominate an artist, musician, maker, artisan or creative business and help us celebrate the people who make our region unique.
You can nominate yourself or someone else. To be eligible, nominees must live, work or create within the Charters Towers Region.
Nominations close Monday, 31 August 2026.
Nominate a Creative
Council will review all nominations and select creatives to be featured throughout the year, with the aim of showcasing a diverse range of creative disciplines, experiences and stories from across the region.
Who can be nominated?
Any artist, musician, maker, artisan or creative business that lives, works or creates within the Charters Towers Region can be nominated.
Can I nominate myself?
Yes. Self-nominations are welcome.
How are featured creatives selected?
Council will review all nominations and select creatives to be featured throughout the year. Selection will aim to showcase a diverse range of creative disciplines, experiences and stories from across the region.
Will everyone who is nominated be featured?
Not necessarily. As the initiative features creatives throughout the year, not every nominee may be featured immediately. Nominations may be retained for consideration for future spotlight opportunities.
Is there a prize?
No. The initiative is designed to recognise and celebrate creatives in the Charters Towers Region by sharing their work and stories through Council’s communication channels.
How old do I need to be to be nominated?
Nominees must be 18 years or older to be featured in the Creative Spotlight Series.
