F5F Outdoor Play Space

The Excelsior Library have a brand new outdoor play space!

This space will be used for our Messy Play sessions which give children a vast range of play to learn experiences and exposure to rich language opportunities. It will be a great space for parents to connect with Library staff and build confidence in their language and literacy skills, meet and connect with other families.  It also gives the library the opportunity to provide services in a more natural surrounding.

This project was funded by First 5 Forever funding from State Library Queensland and the Queensland Government.  The funding was first introduced in 2014 with aim of improving the language and literacy skills of all Qld children from the ages of 0-5 and is provided to every public library in Queensland annually
