The History and Heritage Fair is set to return in 2024, with Lissner Park playing host to an exciting night set to kick off the Ten Days in the Towers Festival.

The History & Heritage Fair will see heritage listed, Lissner Park, come alive with activities, exhibitions, demonstrations, displays and food vendors to suit all ages, kicking off from 5pm on Friday, 26 April 2024.

The fair will provide an opportunity for the community and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the rich and diverse heritage of Charters Towers.

Council said the location of Lissner Park is the perfect venue for the Fair as it is such an integral part of the Region’s history.

“The heritage listed park has been a popular green space since gold was discovered in Charters Towers and it stands today as an icon of historical importance,” said Council.

The History & Heritage Fair presents an excellent occasion to commemorate our history, especially our rich gold mining heritage, and its substantial impact on the growth and prosperity of our region.

“It promises to be a wonderful evening beneath the canopy of heritage trees, illuminated brightly, creating a charming atmosphere that pays tribute to Charters Towers,” Council said.

Council is currently calling on artisans, stall holders, food vendors or anyone who wants to display artefacts and would like to be involved to follow this link: https://bit.ly/HistoryHeritage_stall or phone Council on 07 4761 5300.
