Santa to Spread Joy in Charters Towers

Back

Santa Claus is gearing up for a festive visit to Charters Towers, spreading joy and holiday cheer to both the young and young at heart.

With the assistance of the Charters Towers Police and Charters Towers Fire and Rescue, Santa will make a special appearance in the city streets. This jolly figure will be there to greet children and serve as a friendly reminder that he'll soon be embarking on his annual journey, keeping a watchful eye on who's been naughty or nice.

Councillor Graham Lohmann, overseeing Community Events in his portfolio, encourages parents and children to mark their calendars for Thursday, 14 December, as Santa makes his way through town.

"We've received word that Santa, deeply impressed by the children's behaviour last year, has chosen to come back and bring even more joy”, said Cr Lohmann.

Families eager to catch a glimpse of Santa as he parades through the city streets can plan ahead and find the perfect spot by accessing the details of Santa's route, which will be unveiled closer to the date on Council's website.

In keeping with tradition, Santa will be cruising in style aboard 'Flick,' the vintage fire truck, accompanied by police to add an extra touch of magic and excitement to the Christmas festivities in Charters Towers.

"Be sure to step outside and wave to Santa and his friends as they distribute gifts.

“While Santa's schedule is tight, and he can only visit selected streets, there will be designated parks along the route in case he misses your house," continued Councillor Lohmann.

Santa's enchanting journey is set to commence from 5:15pm, weaving through the streets of Charters Towers before heading back to the North Pole to prepare for his global gift-giving mission.
