Council Leads in Job Creation

Charters Towers Regional Council is now recruiting for its 2024 Apprentice and Traineeship Program.   

Mayor Frank Beveridge said, “Council is delighted with the news that it had been successful with its application for funding of 2 traineeship and 4 carryover apprenticeship allocations under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work – First Start Program for the 2023-2024 financial year”.

The First Start Program primarily targets young Queensland school leavers and disadvantaged job seekers considered at risk of enduring prolonged periods of unemployment.

“This is an amazing opportunity for individuals who are interesting in perusing a career with Council and gaining on the job experience while completing their studies,” Mayor Beveridge said.

Council is now recruiting for:

  • Apprentice Diesel Fitters
  • Customer Service and Records Trainee
  • Library Trainee
  • Roads Team Member Apprentices

Mayor Beveridge said, “It is important that Council leads the way with these opportunities in order to address the recruitment and growth needs of the community. I am excited to see new faces join our team in 2024.”
