Public Notice - Macrossan Bridge Works

MACROSSAN BRIDGE WORKS 

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have advised that deck resurfacing works will be commencing on the Macrossan Bridge between Charters Towers and Townsville.

These works will be delivered in three stages across August and September, and will include two day works packages, and one night works package.

Day works package one:

- 6am - 6pm

- Tuesday 29 August to Thursday 7 September

Day works package two:

- 6am - 6pm

- Friday 15 September to Thursday 21 September

During the day works packages the Macrossan Bridge will have changed traffic conditions, including lane closures, reduced speed limits and short delays. Wide load vehicles will not be permitted to cross the bridge during the delivery of this package of works.

Night works package (TEMPORARY CLOSURE OVER THREE NIGHTS):

- 7pm - 5am

- Monday 11 September to Wednesday 13 September

During the night works package traffic will not be able to cross the Macrossan Bridge each night. Traffic controllers and the Queensland Police Service will be onsite while works are underway, and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles if required. The bridge will reopen each day between 5am and 7pm.
