PUBLIC NOTICE - Weir Open to Skiing

The Dave Chapman Park boat ramp and the Weir Waterway are now open for full public use and water recreation.
Queensland Maritime Safety has completed the redeployment of the regulated waterway navigation buoys and a submerged objects survey in that area.
Extreme caution is advised due to the live and active nature of the Burdekin River system, as environmental flows from upstream can carry debris into the recreational section of the waterway unpredictably.
Council asks all water recreational users to complete a personal inspection of the waterway, prior to water skiing use.
