Join us this October as we celebrate the incredible contributions of older Queenslanders! From volunteers and community leaders to carers, grandparents, and advocates, Seniors Month recognises the vital role older people play in our communities.
Across Queensland, community groups and organisations are hosting inclusive events and activities designed to bring people together, strengthen social connections, and celebrate the skills, experience, and wisdom of older Queenslanders.

When do applications for the event program flyer close?
Applications must be received by COB Monday, 21 September 2026.
Is the program flyer available online?
Yes. The full Seniors Month 2026 program flyer will be available on the What’s On Page. Hard copies are also available at Council’s Admin, VIC and Excelsior Library.
Are Seniors Month events free?
The majority of Seniors Month 2026 events are free to attend. Some activities may have a cost or require an RSVP or registration. Please refer to the Seniors Month program of events for individual event details, including any costs and RSVP or registration requirements.
Where are Seniors Month events held?
Events will be held at various locations throughout the Charters Towers Region. Check the Seniors Month program flyer or individual event listing for the date, time and location of each event.
Seniors Month - Morning Tea & Expo
Here in Charters Towers, Council will be hosting a very special Seniors Morning Tea on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 at the Arthur Titley Centre.
The event will feature:
- Information booths showcasing local services and support for seniors
- Fun activities to get involved in
- A free morning tea to enjoy with friends and community
If you are a local business or community organisation that supports our senior community, this is a great opportunity to get involved by hosting an information booth.

Is the Seniors Month Morning Tea event free?
Yes. Seniors Morning Tea is a free community events.
Do I need to RSVP to attend the Morning Tea event?
Yes. RSVPs are required for the Seniors Morning Tea and Expo to help Council plan catering and event arrangements.
Can community groups or organisations participate?
Yes. Community groups and organisations are encouraged to get involved and can register as stallholders for the Seniors Month Morning Tea and Expo. This is a great opportunity to connect with local seniors and share information about your services and activities.
How do I register as a stall holder?
