Flying-Fox Dispersal to Continue

Published on 27 March 2026

Flying Fox
Recent dispersal activity has resulted in most flying-foxes relocating out of Lissner and Centenary Parks.

Council will continue dispersal efforts over the weekend and into next week to reinforce relocation. Weekend activities will be scaled back to air cannons, with dispersal occurring within the vicinity of the two parks only between 5:30am – 8am.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to keep noise sensitive pets indoors or secured during early morning dispersal times.

For sick or injured flying-foxes, please contact DNT Wildlife on 0459 514 049, or RSPCA on 1300 264 625. For flying foxes roosting in yards, please contact Council on 4761 5300.

Council apologises for any inconvenience these activities may cause, and thanks the community for their ongoing patience and understanding.
