Region’s Top Businesses Wanted: 2026 Awards Open

Public nominations for the 2026 Business Excellence Awards are now open, with businesses able to self-enter until Monday, 16 February 2026. All businesses nominated by the public will be contacted directly to complete their entry.

The Charters Towers Regional Council has officially launched the nomination period, marking an exciting milestone in the lead-up to the gala dinner and awards night on Saturday, 23 May 2026.

Councillor Kate Hastie said the launch of the awards has already sparked excitement within the local business community.

“Our region is home to an incredibly diverse range of businesses, from emerging entrepreneurs and family-run enterprises to established leaders in agriculture, mining, tourism, and small enterprise.

“With nominations now open, we are already seeing strong interest from businesses eager to showcase their achievements and be part of this important celebration,” said Councillor Hastie.

The Awards recognise outstanding performance, innovation, and contribution across the Charters Towers Region. The public is encouraged to nominate businesses they believe demonstrate excellence, helping shine a light on those making a significant impact in the community.

Entries will be assessed by a judging panel of three independent representatives once nominations close in February.

Award winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner in May, celebrating the achievements of the region’s diverse and dedicated business community.

Council is also seeking corporate sponsors to partner in supporting the Awards.

“By sponsoring the 2026 Charters Towers Business Excellence Awards, businesses can elevate their profile while helping to celebrate the hard work, determination, and resilience of our local business community.  Sponsoring acknowledges these efforts and strengthens the networks that contribute to a vibrant and successful region,” Councillor Hastie said.
