Flying-Fox Dispersal Update

Council would like to provide the community with an update on Flying-Fox dispersal activities planned for this weekend.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a strong and sustained effort in dispersing Flying-Foxes. In recent days, however, the Flying-Fox have shown more stubborn behaviour, particularly around Lissner Park and the CBD.

To allow the community a small break, reduced dispersal activities will be occurring over the next four mornings.

From tomorrow (Friday, 5 September) morning through to Monday (8 September) morning, no pyrotechnics will be used.
Instead, the team will utilise quieter methods such as beacon lights and pool noodles, which make little to no noise.

We acknowledge this may mean some Flying-Foxes will return to Lissner Park in the short term.
