Who can have a display at Community Sign-on Day?

Local sporting clubs, recreational groups, hobby groups and volunteer or community organisations based in or servicing the Charters Towers region are invited to participate.

 

What is the purpose of the event?

Community Sign-On Day provides one central location for organisations to promote their activities and connect with families, kids and individuals looking to get involved ahead of the upcoming season.

Is there a cost to participate?

No - having a display at Community Sign-On Day is free of charge.

When and where is the event held?

The event will be held on Friday, 13 February 2026, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Centenary Park, Charters Towers.

What does a display include?

Each participating organisation will be allocated a space to set up a small display to share information, answer questions and sign up interested participants.

What should organisations bring on the day?

Organisations should bring their own signage, promotional materials and any sign-up forms or devices required. Council will provide one table and two chairs for each participating organisation.

Can we sign people up at the event?

Yes - organisations are encouraged to provide information and sign up new members, participants or volunteers during this event.

Is this event suitable for promoting junior and senior activities?

Yes - the event is designed to attract kids of all ages, teens, adults, families and seniors.

What time do organisations need to arrive?

Set-up details and arrival times will be provided to registered organisations closer to the event date.

Organisations can register for the Community Sign-On Day by emailing events@charterstowers.qld.gov.au or calling Council on 47615300.

Is there a limit to the number of organisations?

Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

 

Is there a registration cut-off time?

Yes. Organisations are asked to register their attendance by Friday, 6 February 2026.
