Australia Day Celebrations
Charters Towers Regional Council encourages residents to reflect, respect and celebrate as we’re all part of the story of Australia.
Join us from 9am on Monday, 26 January 2026, for the Australia Day Ceremony and Celebrations at the Arthur Titley Centre.
The event will include the Charters Towers Region Australia Day Awards Ceremony, where we will recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, community groups, and organisations that make a meaningful difference in our region. These awards honour community members who go above and beyond in their professions, contribute selflessly to the Charters Towers Region, and inspire those around them.
The ceremony will also celebrate the individuals who will soon become Australian citizens. At the ceremony, candidates will make the Pledge of Commitment, affirming their loyalty to Australia and its values of freedom, democracy, equality, and respect. They will they will also be presented with a Certificate of Australian Citizenship. This special event recognises the diverse stories and cultures that enrich our community. We are proud to welcome our soon-to-be citizens and celebrate this significant event with them.
Following the ceremony, enjoy an afternoon of family fun at the Kennedy Regiment Memorial Pool from 2pm, with live music, entertainment, free sausage sizzle, and activities for all ages.
Free entry.
