ABOUT THE ROLE

The position is responsible for assisting the development and management of Water & Wastewater Assets, and for developing, managing and coordinating the timely delivery of asset maintenance and projects in consultation with key stakeholders. 

Employment Status: Full Time, Permanent – 76 hours per fortnight

Award: Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017

Salary Range: $102,748 to 108,306 gross per annum

 

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |
  • Experience at a supervisory level including the ability to motivate and drive continuous improvement practices. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and relevant Council policies, procedures, and other legislation relating to Water & Wastewater, asset management and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed reports on related operational matters.
  • Sound financial literacy and business acumen across contracts, budgets, and projects.
  • Ability to continuously improve operations, identifying and implementing enhanced practices.
  • Ability to build strong cohesive teams through organisational skills and sound judgement in decision making including negotiation and problem solving.
  • High level interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to work in a collaborative environment to create opportunities to develop solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and relevant computer applications applicable to facilities, projects, and asset management.

| Essential Education/Qualifications |

  • Relevant qualification in asset management, project management, Water & Wastewater management (or similar), or be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
  • Possession of a General Safety Induction Certificate (Construction Industry).

| Essential Licences |

  • Possession and maintenance of a current Queensland ‘C’ class driver licence.

| Physical Requirements / Position Environment |

  • This position is a balance of indoor and outdoor functions and requires sufficient physical ability to work in a shared office setting, which involves prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and operating a computer, telephone and other devices; as well as directly supporting the Water & Wastewater Assets Team to deliver asset management, maintenance and construction projects.
  • This position may require the incumbent to undertake frequent field visits involving frequent short and occasional lengthy trips.
  • This position may involve travel to attend meetings and work-related events.
