Are you aged 16–23 and passionate about shaping the future of Charters Towers? The 2026 Charters Towers Youth Council is your chance to have a real voice in local decisions, build leadership skills, and make a positive impact in your community.

The Youth Council brings together up to 10 young people from across the region to represent youth perspectives, advise Council on issues affecting young people, and help co-design projects, events and initiatives. Members act as youth ambassadors, participate in civic activities, and gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork and local government processes

You’ll also have opportunities for training in governance, public speaking and leadership, plus the chance to nominate for Youth Mayor or Deputy Youth Mayor roles.

Whether you’re interested in community wellbeing, events, youth services, or simply want to make the Charters Towers Region an even better place to live, this is your opportunity to step up and be heard.
