Queensland Day is an important celebration of our State’s culture and heritage, and an opportunity to reflect on what Queensland means to you and what makes you proud to be a Queenslander - whether it be our people, places, opportunities or lifestyle.
Are you a local creative, farmer or food vendor who has hand-made, hand-crafted, up-cycled goods/wares to sell or ready to eat food, then we want you to showcase your wares! The Queensland Day - Celebrating Faces and Places of Charters Towers, will feature live music and entertainment with a great family friendly vibe, and we want you to join us.
Please note the event location is on undulating bitumen with no power available – lighting will be sufficient (through the use of light towers).
No application fee for Market Stalls.
Charters Towers Regional Council invites artists to enter their original pieces that encompass the theme ‘Faces & Places of Charters Towers’.
This exhibition will showcase community artworks of different styles and mediums relating to the theme: Faces & Places of Charters Towers.
Exhibition submissions open: Monday, 9 May and close: 9am Monday, 30 May. The exhibition will be held at The World Theatre from 4 – 18 June.
Exhibition opening will feature as part of ‘Queensland Day – Celebrating Faces & Places of Charters Towers’ 3pm – 8pm Sunday, 5 June.
A ‘People’s Choice’ prize of $250 will be awarded to the piece which received the most votes during the Queensland Day Celebrations.
Charters Towers Regional Council invites photographers to enter a photography competition encompassing the theme ‘Unearth Our Secrets’.
Images and photographs depicting the Charters Towers Region, be it our natural surrounds, our buildings or our events to celebrate this love of our Region.
There are five (5) categories to enter:
Prize money of $500 for the winner of each category and $250 People’s Choice.
Entries open Monday, 9 May 2022 and close: 9am Monday, 30 May 2022.
Entering in this Competition automatically declares Charters Towers Regional Council a licence to reproduce entered photographs for promotional, educational and informational purposes in Council publications, on Council’s website and social media platforms and agreeance to the Terms and Conditions associated with this Competition.
Finalist photographs will be displayed at the ‘Unearth Our Secrets’ Exhibition at the Queensland Day - Celebrating Faces & Places Street Party on Sunday, 5 June 2022.
All winners will be announced at the Queensland Day - Celebrating Faces & Places Street Party then via Council’s social media channels and website on Monday, 6 June 2022.
