Council has adopted its 2018-2019 Annual Report, which outlines the organisation’s performance and achievements for the past financial year.

The Annual Report is a key reporting tool which measures Council’s annual performance against key objectives in the Corporate Plan and Budget.

The Local Government Act 2009 requires all local government authorities to prepare and submit an annual report to the Minister for Local Government each financial year.

Mayor Liz Schmidt said it has been an exciting year full of many accomplishments for our community.

“Council is pleased to present our 2018-2019 Annual Report to the community. It provides an account of what we have been up to for the past 12 months.

“We successfully completed 11 major projects which were all funded by the Works for Queensland program.

“Projects included the IT communications network expansion with community Wi-Fi hotspots, major infrastructure works at the Dalrymple Saleyards, smart water meters, second boardwalk on Towers Hill, Augmented Reality experience on Towers Hill, water infrastructure upgrades and various roads and bridges upgrades.

“To address the needs of our Region, Council released its new Advocacy Plan 2019 which outlines 8 key priorities Council is advocating the State and Federal Governments. Two of these priorities include Drought Assistance and Financial Assistance Grants.

“To deliver our long-term objectives, as outlined in our Corporate Plan 2018-2023, I’m happy to report that we completed and delivered our new Regional Town Plan and the Smart Cities initiative.

“We are very proud of the work that has been achieved and I want to encourage residents to read the Report which also includes our financial statements,” Mayor Schmidt said.
