Reminder: Boiled Water Alert - Greenvale

Greenvale residents are reminded of the current Boiled Water Alert for the area.

Greenvale residents are advised to boil drinking water until further notice. This advice has been issued following water quality conditions that are beyond current treatment processes to address as well as the current rain and flooding event.

Customers should bring water to a rolling boil by heating the water until a continuous and rapid stream of air bubbles is produced from the bottom of the pan or kettle (kettles with automatic cut-off switches are suitable). Water should be allowed to cool before using or storing.

Boil water for:

  • Drinking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Washing and preparing food or beverages
  • Preparing baby formula
  • Making ice

Unboiled water can be used for :

  • Showering/bathing (minimise the amount of water taken into the mouth). As a precaution babies/toddlers should be sponge bathed
  • Washing dishes by hand or in a dishwasher (dishes should be air-dried before use)
  • Washing clothes

Consumption of unboiled water may lead to minor health concerns (eg upset tummy). If you feel you have been affected by drinking unboiled water please contact your GP and advise them about this notice.

Council apologises for this inconvenience and appreciates the community’s cooperation. Residents will be advised when boiled water is no longer necessary.

For more information, or if you have any concerns please call Council on 4761 5300.
