Council to launch new website

Charters Towers Regional Council will launch a brand-new website within the coming days which will provide ease of use for the community to find information and to stay up to date with Council news and events.

The website will replace the current site and follows the design style of many other local councils within Queensland.

Mayor Frank Beveridge said the launch of the new site couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Our staff have been working on the new website for many months now as the current website is out of date. The new website will have a slim-lined and modern look and will be easy to navigate.

“The community will be able to search for information and stay up-to-date with Council news and events.

“With the Northern Miner stopping its printed paper from today, our new website couldn’t have come at a better time,” said the Mayor.

“It’s important for us to be able to engage and communicate with the community regularly. The website will be one way we’ll do this. We’ll also continue to use our Facebook page, LinkedIn page and Youtube channel to convey messages.

“We will continue to issue media releases to news outlets including regional newspapers, radio & television.

“We will also be looking at other options in the near future to provide information to residents that may not be as tech savvy and use online platforms.”

The new website is scheduled to launch on 30 June 2020 and can be accessed at www.charterstowers.qld.gov.au.
