Register your Dog/Cat

Registration is compulsory for dogs aged three months and over.  Further, effective 1 July 2010, registration of cats aged three months and over is also compulsory.  If you do not register your dog/cat, you may be liable to be issued a $200.00 on the spot fine.

Dog/cat registrations are designed to promote responsible pet ownership.  Discounts on registration apply for:-

  • desexed dogs/cats;
  • being a current member of the Queensland Canine Control Council;
  • pensioners.

To secure discounts available, registration fees must be paid within the discount period.  Refer to the Fees section of this website for information relating to the registration fees for the current financial year.
