Dalrymple Villa is a non profit low-care aged facility (operated by Dalrymple Villa Incorporated ) providing quality care for the needs of the citizens of Charters Towers and surrounding districts. The Villa is situated on the slopes of Buckland Hill, within beautiful landscaped gardens.
The Villa community consists of 40 fully furnished Hostel units with their own ensuite and 20 self contained two-bedroom Villas. Each unit and Villa enjoys a superb view of northern Charters Towers and surrounding countryside from the front patio.
Fairbank Crescent Villas are fully self-contained and consist of two bedrooms, kitchen, an open living area extending to a private patio and all other modern convenience, including an enclosed garage.
Tenure to a Villa is by way of a lifetime residency agreement with a weekly maintenance fee covering items such as insurance, communal lighting expenses and garden maintenance.
The occupier of the Villa is responsible for telephone, electricity, internal maintenance and insurance on personal property.
This alternative allows independent living while providing the security of a Villa complex.
Fairbank Crescent operational and legal arrangements are conducted in accordance with the "Retirement Villages Act 2002".
The residential units provide a semi-independent lifestyle with all meals, daily housekeeping, laundry and limited nursing care provided for. Each unit is fully furnished (including linen) with ensuite bathroom.
Provision has been made for a television, a small refrigerator and private telephone. Residents are invited to discuss the right to include any personal furniture and possessions within the unit. Due to Workplace Health and Safety Requirements and Fire Legislation, overcrowding of the units with furniture, fittings and furnishings is strictly prohibited.
A communal dining room is provided for all meals whilst morning and afternoon teas are provided in the spacious, comfortable lounge area which can be utilised for recreational activities or as a relaxation area.
A security service operates for the complex and Villa staff are available 24 hours per day to assist residents. In addition, all residents are furnished with a personal alarm system (pendant) which is carried on the person and is activated simply by pressing when assistance is required.
Each month a hairdresser and local doctors hold regular clinics for those residents who prefer not to travel. Newspapers are delivered each morning. Chemist supplies are delivered from the local pharmacy as required.
Large-print library books are provided from the Charters Towers Municipal Library and are exchanged on a regular basis.
A canteen service is provided where residents can obtain personal items, fruit or treats or arrange pick-up of personal shopping items when required.
Recreational pursuits include: -

- Weekly 50c lotto
- Craft classes and groups
- Group picnics
- Organised outings for sightseeing etc.
Activities are not, however, restricted to those mentioned above as all activities are designed to suit the individual resident.
Friendly, caring staff are available to assist with any service required from handling mail or messages to limited nursing care.
Resident fees are charged in accordance with the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing Schedule of Fees and Charges. The current rate is available upon request. Fees are charged fortnightly in advance. For those residents on a weekly income, fees will be calculated on an income tested basis in accordance with the requirements of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing Schedule of Fees and Charges.
Units are available for short-term care (up to nine weeks) to assist people in need after hospitalisation, periods of illness or to provide carer relief.
Residents in the Charters Towers area who prefer to live at home may access Dalrymple Villa's community mobile meals program. The program includes affordable three-course meals delivered each day to your home at an affordable rate. (N.B - disability criteria applies).
