Gold and Beef Rooms

The Gold and Beef Rooms are meeting rooms for use by members of the general public.  These rooms are conveniently located at our Administration Complex, 12 Mosman Street, Charters Towers, with wheelchair access available using the King Street entrance.

The Gold and Beef Rooms can be hired as one complete room or two separate rooms.  However it is important to note that the rooms are only divided by a concertina and consequently are not sound proof.  Each room is capable of holding 25 people (total of 50 people for both rooms).

Both rooms have access to kitchen facilities (cold room, microwave, stove/oven, hot water urn and sink) however crockery, cutlery and condiments are not provided.  The rooms are air-conditioned and tables and chairs are provided.  Toilet facilities are located at either end of the rooms.  Two (2) whiteboards are also available for use.  There is no internet access to either of these rooms.

Please note: The Gold and Beef Rooms are not available for hire on Council Meeting days, nor the day before each Council Meeting.

Flo Fitzgerald Room and Meeting Room 2
Two meeting rooms are available for hire at the Excelsior Library by members of the general public.  Meeting Room 2 is located on the second level which is serviced by an elevator. 

Each room will comfortably seat 24 people. Both rooms have access to kitchenette facilities with crockery and cutlery available for 24 people. The rooms are air-conditioned and collapsible tables and chairs are provided. Toilet facilities are also available. A whiteboard and smart television is available for use however, whiteboard pens and computer/electronic devices for presentations must be provided by the hirer. Dependent upon availability, a data projector may be available for use. It is recommended that bookings are made well in advance for use of this projector.

It is recommended that hirers allow 10-15 minutes prior to starting time to allow for a site induction by Library staff.

Arthur Titley Centre

The Arthur Titley Centre is located in Mosman Street within the Central Business District of Charters Towers.  Formerly known as the Horticultural Hall and opened in 1933, the centre was renamed in honour of the former Mayor. This venue is suitable for banquets, cocktail or dinner-dance events, conference meetings or trade shows. The air-conditioned venue features a full commercial kitchen and a separate bar area, both serve the separate function rooms with disabled access. The Centre features a stage with disabled access also.

Meeting Room - Defiance Mill Park

This room is located at Defiance Mill Park, Boundary Street, Charters Towers. The room has full disabled access (including toilet facilities) and off street parking.

The room comfortably seats 12 people and tables and chairs are provided.  It has access to kitchenette facilities including a fridge, sink and wall-mounted hot water urn.  Crockery, cutlery and supplies are the responsibility of the hirer.  The room is air-conditioned with 2 fixed whiteboards.
