Are you an Artist?

Art can be strange, wonderful, creative, colourful, a little of everything and more. It can take many forms, from painting, to sculpture, photos, to street art.

The task to create can be daunting or frustrating when things don’t turn out the way they were envisaged. Time and money constraints get in the way. But true artists continue to pursue their passion, whether they're veterans or starting out.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Charters Towers Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

The Queensland Government is contributing $2.08 million to the 2017-18 RADF partnership.

Charters Towers Regional Council was successful in receiving $40,000 of funding from the Queensland Government, which will be combined with a Council contribution of $48,000 to provide a total funding pool of $88,000 for this financial year’s RADF program.

The objective of RADF is to build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride. RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by our communities.

The local RADF Committee consists of local artists, cultural workers, member of cultural groups, members of local organisations or associations, people active in their community, and is ratified as an advisory committee to Council.

Visual Arts is the focus for Regional Arts Development Fund Grants in Round 1 2017-18. Applications are now open and will close 20 November 2017. For further information:
