PUBLIC NOTICE - Party in the Park — Charters Towers: Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

Party in the Park — Charters Towers: Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

As part of the Queen’s Baton Relay held on 12 March 2018, there will be a “Party in the Park” community celebration held at Centenary Park from 3pm until 7:30pm. During this event, there will be a range of road impacts as a result of road based events and associated detours and closures.

Temporary road closures and security measures will be required in some areas and will affect travel and access in around Centenary Park.
During the Party in the Park:
  • Churchill St (From Gordon St to the end - behind Centenary Park) will be closed from approximately 2pm until late. No parking will be available. Local traffic and emergency vehicles access only.
  • Hackett Terrace in front of Centenary Park will have no parking. The vacant land on Bridge St across from the Cattleman’s Rest Motor Inn will have no parking all day.
  • Parking will be available at Kerswell Oval (off Baker St)
  • Disability parking will be available in the Centenary Park car park via Dalrymple Rd.
Residents around the park received a letter on 27 February detailing parking restrictions and road closures.
Council appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this time.
