Charters Towers: Road Closures and Parking Restrictions — Queen’s Baton Relay

During the Queen’s Baton Relay held on 12 March 2018, there will be a range of road impacts as a result of road based events and associated detours and closures.
Temporary road closures and security measures will be required in some areas across the region and will affect travel and access in and around Charters Towers.
During the Queen’s Baton Relay the following roads will be closed:
  • The Flinders Hwy (from Brownson Park through to Rainbow Rd)
  • Rainbow Rd (from Flinders Hwy through to High St)
  • High St (from Rainbow Rd through to Hodgkinson St)
  • Hodgkinson St (from High St through to Boundary St)
  • Boundary St (from Hodgkinson St through to Gill St)
  • Gill St (from Boundary St through to Mosman St)
  • Mosman St (from Gill St through to Anne St)
  • Anne St (from Mosman St through to Church St)
  • Church St (from Anne St through to Plummer St)
  • Plummer St (from Church St through to Bridge St)
  • Bridge St (from Plummer St through to Hackett Terrace)
  • Hackett Terrace (before Bridge St through past the Gordon Street intersection)
  • Dalrymple Rd (from Hackett Terrace to the end of Centenary Park/entrance to Eventide)
Road closures will be in effect from approximately 4:30pm until 5:30pm. Roads will reopen as the Baton passes. No parking is permitted along the route during the event.
Gill Street (from Boundary St to Mosman St) and Mosman Street (from Gill St to Anne St) will be closed from 2pm – with strictly no parking.
