Fund your next art project

Last year, Council was successful in receiving $40,000 from the Queensland Government for this financial year’s RADF program. Combined with a Council contribution of $48,000, the total funding pool is $88,000.
The community is encouraged to apply for the Round 2 funding, which closes 5 March 2018. Applications for Visual art projects, in particular, painting and public art, are being sort, which will engage a diverse audience.
The objectives of RADF are to build local cultural capacity, cultural innovation and community pride. RADF invests in local arts and cultural priorities, as determined by our communities.
The local RADF Committee consists of local artists, cultural workers, member of cultural groups, members of local organisations or associations and people active in their community, and is ratified as an advisory committee to Council.
“Even if you aren’t an artist, we’re looking for non-art groups, young people, children and anyone in our region who wants to create and has a great project to share.” said Mayor Liz Schmidt.
The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and Charters Towers Regional Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million to the 2017-18 RADF partnership across 59 councils state-wide.
Visual Art is the focus for Regional Arts Development Fund Grants in Round 2 2017-18.

Applications are now open and will close 5 March 2018. For further information:
