Time to get your community survey in

The closing date for the Township Community Surveys is coming fast.

The surveys, for residents of Pentland, Greenvale and Ravenswood, were distributed by Charters Towers Regional Council last month.

The aim of the Township Community Surveys is to provide context for Council’s commitment to community strengthening in Pentland.

The closing date for getting completed surveys back to Council is Friday 27 March 2015.

The survey asks for responses to a range of social, economic, environmental and governance questions. The survey has been framed so it is easy to respond to. In some cases multiple choice answers are provided to assist with a response.

With a strong focus on “Community Strengthening”, the Township Community Survey is the process whereby planning helps build a cohesive, inclusive and resilient community. Council is committed to work for and with the communities of Pentland, Greenvale and Ravenswood to actively determine, plan and participate in social, economic, environmental and governance aspects of community life.

This commitment encompasses working with people to live, work and play in these townships and to build a strong and connected community.

This planning is underpinned by Council’s 2013-18 Corporate Plan and aligns to the nine foundations of the Queensland Plan – 30 year vision: Education, Community, Regions, Economy, Health and Wellbeing, Environment, People, Infrastructure and Governance.

Completed surveys can be returned to Council in the supplied reply paid envelope. Council requests that surveys are returned by 27 March 2015.
