Public Notice - Lissner Park - Flying Fox Dispersal

Council will be engaging a Contractor to undertake flying fox dispersal activities in Lissner Park, commencing from approximately 4:00pm until 6:30pm on Tuesday, 13 August 2019 until Friday, 16 August 2019. Some early morning dispersal activities may also occur during these dates from approximately 6:00am until 8:30am.
The aim of the dispersal is to encourage flying foxes to relocate from some of the trees on Deane Street to other trees within Lissner Park, to allow pruning and removal of vegetation overhanging Deane Street.
Residents in the area may expect to be impacted by some noise and lighting disturbances during this time.  For safety reasons residents are asked not to enter the Park while these works are being undertaken.
Council has notified the Department of Environment and Science of the activities to be undertaken and will follow all safety procedures.
For more information or questions please call Council on 4761 5300.
