PUBLIC NOTICE- INTENTION TO CARRY OUT CONTROLLED BURNS

Notice is hereby given that Charters Towers Regional Council together with the Department of Natural Resources and Mines intends to conduct controlled burning of excess vegetation on vacant reserves located around the Charters Towers City and Ravenswood area from Monday 24 July 2017 to Friday 4 August 2017.

 

The purpose of the programme is to reduce heavy vegetation growth to prevent against the harbourage of vermin and risks of potential wild fire to residents of the area.

 

Council thanks the public for their understanding as these activities are essential for the safety and well-being of residents.
