Have your say: Charters Towers Community Consultation Forum

As part of Council’s Community Engagement Strategy to revise and review its Corporate Plan, Council will hold a community forum on Saturday, 14 March 2015 at the Dalrymple Trade Training Centre, MacPherson Street commencing at 1.00pm.

The Corporate Plan is used to set the direction for Council for a five (5) year period. This in turn informs the twelve month Operation Plans and all activities of Council.

The intent of the forum is to gather information from the community as to where the community perceives we are currently at and what the community wants to see happen or progress over the next 4 to 5 years in relation to all and any aspects of our community.  It is about focussing on the issues important to the community and where necessary resetting of priorities and goals designed at addressing the issues.  It is therefore essential for you to share your ideas, no matter how big or small so that the issues of importance are identified and acted upon in the interests of the community as a whole.

Aspects of community life that are of concern to you are many and varied and include matters such as lifestyle, business, primary production, health and wellbeing to name a few.  We would like to know what is important to you and how you think we can best achieve securing same.

There is no reading required prior to attending the forum. Just register, come with an open mind, be willing to share ideas and above all, respect the views and beliefs of your fellow contributors.

If you are unable to attend or if you would like to ensure that a matter of concern is raised, please forward your concerns/ideas and thoughts by email to mail@charterstowers.qld.gov.au or contact Council on 4761 5300.
