Call for Applications Townsville Enterprise - Emerging Leaders Program


Charters Towers Regional Council is seeking applications from individuals interested in taking part in the Townsville Enterprise Emerging Leaders Program, an exciting professional development opportunity.

Townsville Enterprise Limited has included within its 2017/2018 Service Level Agreement with Council, a position for a nominated person to participate in the Townsville Enterprise Emerging Leaders Program.

The Program offers a unique opportunity to middle and executive level management and business owners. The Program will run over 12 months and is aimed at enhancing the critical skills, knowledge and aptitude required to become a community and/or industry leader. It responds to a recognised need to develop a pool of leadership talent to progress the region.

The successful applicant:

  • must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and 18 years of age or older;
  • will be required to meet the criteria outlined in the Application Form provided;
  • obtain employer commitment to the application;
  • is to maintain a minimum attendance of 80% across all program events;
  • will be required to attend a full day module from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on a monthly basis. The successful applicant is required to attend the whole day;
  • will be required to attend one meet and greet event and two Mentor and Emerging Leader events. 

Successful graduates will also be required to attend a graduation event.

In May 2016, Charters Towers Businessman, Mr Brian Miller, graduated from the Program, which he commenced in 2015. A spokesperson for the Emerging Leaders Program stated “Mr Miller was an outstanding Emerging Leader and has stayed connected to both Townsville Enterprise, his fellow graduates and successfully doing business with several of them and bringing new business to Charters Towers.”
