The Gold and Beef Rooms are meeting rooms for use by members of the general public. These rooms are conveniently located in our Administration Complex, 12-16 Mosman Street, Charters Towers and wheelchair access is available using the King Street entrance.
The Gold and Beef Rooms can be hired as one complete room or two separate rooms. However it is important to note that the rooms are only divided by a concertina and consequently are not sound proof. Each room is capable of holding 25 people (total of 50 people for both rooms).
Both rooms have access to kitchen facilities (cold room, microwave, stove/oven, hot water urn and sink) however crockery, cutlery and condiments are not provided for. The rooms are air-conditioned and tables and chairs are provided. Toilet facilities are located at either end of the rooms. A television/video unit and an overhead projector surface (no projector) are available upon request and whiteboards are also available for use. There is no internet access to either of these rooms.
Please note, the Gold and Beef Rooms are not hired out on Council Meeting Days (2nd Tuesday of each month).
Hire costs as at 01st July, 2007 are $9.30 per hour or a maximum of $82.00 per day (GST Inclusive). Not for profit organisations can make application in writing to Council for an exemption from fees associated with the hiring of these rooms.
