Charters Towers Region Greenvale ASMTI Project

ASMTI Charters TowersThe Australia-Singapore Military Training Initiative (ASMTI) is an opportunity for Australia to build Defence capability and enhance its bilateral relationship with Singapore, while providing enduring economic benefits to Central and North Queensland.

Under the ASMTI, Singapore is investing around $2.25 billion for Australia to develop and enhance training areas to meet the future needs of the Australian Defence Force and facilitate an increased presence of Singapore Armed Forces personnel.

As part of this investment a new training area will be developed and established in the Charters Towers Region (near Greenvale). This training area will be owned and managed by the Australian Government.

The purpose of this initiative is to deliver advanced military training areas that benefit the Australian Defence Force, provide significant local economic opportunities and strengthen Australia’s Defence relationship with Singapore.

Charters Towers Regional Council is committed to ensuring our Local Businesses are provided with the relevant information to enable them to engage with the economic opportunities under this Initiative.

Notifications and Information to business opportunities will be posted on this page and to Council’s Facebook page.
