Junior Community Grants round 3 open

In 2017 youth community groups received $10,300 in funding as part of the Mayor’s Junior Community Grants program. These grants are a source of financial assistance to young people in the region wishing to undertake a variety of activities and may require extra funds.
Mayor Liz Schmidt is inviting community groups with groups aged between Pre-Prep to Grade 12 to lodge an application for Round 3.
“This is an amazing opportunity for our youth to identify and seek funding for important causes.” said Mayor Schmidt.
“The purpose of the grants is to encourage young people to take the initiative of completing a handwritten application form, submitting it and then acquitting the grant, if the application is successful.”
The grant amount may be specified on the application form and such request will be considered by a judging panel who will make a final decision.  The grant will be provided as a one-off assistance to the successful applicants.
“I want to give the youth all the support they need and encourage parents and youth leaders to take advantage of these grants.” said the Mayor.
Applicants are to note that only one application from each organisation will be considered. Funding for these grants is supplied by the Mayor from the allowance she receives using her private motor vehicle for Council business.
Application Forms and further information are available at or by contacting Miss Jenny Brown, Executive Assistant to the Mayor on 07 47615332 or
Applications close at 4:00pm, Thursday 08 March 2018.
